Has It Come to This, Mitch McConnell?

As one of the Founding Fathers, what would you say?

Come to what? You might ask. Say what? You might ask this as well. Yet, in my mind I see a calculating man, one who has more and more been willing to calculate that he can’t say his arranged words. They are wrong and could lead to catastrophe. Better to say nothing.

I postulate this is what silences the turtle of the senate.

Yes, it is clearly wisdom which stills the lips. They refuse to answer or say words that could lead to ruin. Yet, still we come to this point where I, a man half the age, has to pat a 81-year-old’s head when finally he manages to say the right things after months of fighting what needs to be said.

Of course the major conflicts are related. These wars exist because a revanchist axis has formed against the current world order. This axis has been long been forming and as such is still in the process of forming a coherent argument for their own people to somehow entertain the possibilities of a looming “forever war.” Plans in the making for decades are sometimes as old as the players themselves. Conquer or be conquered. Assimilate others or be assimilated by others. Kill or be killed.

As such, the power of the state to make war is often abused by dictatorial forces. It is usually the last resort of men desperate to cling to power. Their system of government is not robust to their entry or exit from the job as commander and chief of the state’s military.

In such systems, the leaders often fight elements of their governments or their citizens. This struggle is not just playing out on native lands of this new axis. It is playing out here in a America. It is playing out in our minds it seems as they try to speak to the cameras.

The acknowledgement that all this is connected is the barest of bare minimum. We ask of our leaders in this struggle against evil to fight North Korea, Russia, Iran, and Hamas. Or anyone who uses terrorist tactics.

We must accept that terrorists can not always be saved. They must, however, be stopped. Mitch McConnell saw this long before I did. The man is allowed to see the intelligence reports. Yet, it takes this long to speak the truth to the American people?

So while I am okay patting his head for finally agreeing with the majority of the people here on Earth One, where facts matters, that everything is connected in these conflicts, I am simultaneously booting him in the ass for waiting this long to express concerns about the importance of a functional government in the face of such existential threats from the rapists, murders, and torturers who lead adversarial nations and military organizations against us.

As it stands Mitch is the elected leader of his party. It is his job to see that his party does its duty. So while talk is good, action is better.

In my mind, he should be down on his knees groveling before the Democrats, begging them to save him from the mess his inaction and cowardice has led to.

As useless as he has been up until now, if he lets elements working in tandem with the axis paralyze and destroy the order we so beautifully enjoy today, he should know that when the monster he helped create comes to eat him, we on the right side of history will not lift a finger. He, like McCarthy, will be receiving cosmic justice. Leopards do eat faces.

It’s his decision. Step on the burning ladder which leads down red hot rungs of molten steel into the bowels of hell. Or, stand against the forces of evil and chaos, rebirthed in the knowledge that he has chosen correctly. That he has chosen wisely, because good is far more powerful than evil.
